Paleiskamer

Paleiskamer was one of the guest rooms at Hotel Transvaal, a unique hotel in which rooms are spread across empty apartment blocks in a neighborhood designated for demolition and renewal.

The design for the wallpaper in this room is inspired by the concept of the hotel:
‘a stay at the interval’, between demolition and change.
The image on the wallpaper is a black and white photograph of a paper maquette, which features an interior in Louis XIV style.

The room is fully wrapped in this image and completely void of color. The walls seem to slowly shift, taking the visitor on a journey into a parallel world.
